Aldeburgh

At last the cold English winter is coming to an end and we are experiencing some fine days.  The garden has early spring flowers in it and as I drive around I see leaves appearing on trees.  Its lovely in winter to paint from photographs collected the previous summer but far better to be out and about oneself observing nature and drawing and painting local scenes and new scenes found while traveling.

I have been painting a few pictures of the Suffolk coast, my latest one being Aldeburgh, which I painted from a photograph.

This is a lovely part of England with big skies over a fairly flat landscape, with a largely unspoiled coastline.  It abound with wildlife and conservation reserves and is a mecca for artists of all kinds.
